Weakening Olaf tracking north-northeast away from Hawaii

At 5:00 PM the center of Hurricane Olaf was located about 785 miles E of Kahului. Olaf is moving toward the north-northeast near 12 mph and this general motion is expected to continue for the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 100 mph with higher gusts. Significant weakening is expected over the next couple of days with Olaf weakening to a tropical storm on Sunday.

SURF: Swells generated by Hurricane Olaf will produce rough surf along east facing shores of the Hawaiian Islands through the weekend.
